Our Lady of the Lake Catholic School is accepting applications to fill a Bus Driver Position for its Roscommon to Prudenville route for the 2021-2022 school year.   

On school days, Bus Drivers will pick up students in the morning bringing them to school; in the afternoon, return them home.  With advance notice there will also be an occasional school and/or class field trip in which the driver will be needed. 

Job duties would include (not an inclusive list):

  • Ensuring the safety of children getting on and off the bus.
  • Keeping order and safety on the school bus.
  • Understanding and enforcing school rule’s and conduct.

Qualifications:

  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Willingness to work with children. 
  • Must possess a clean driving record.  
  • CDL Driver’s License is required (A, B, or C with a P and S endorsement).
  • Must pass a background check, be fingerprinted, and pass a DOT physical. 

Hours are morning and afternoon when school is in session.  If needed for a field trip advance notice of the hours needed will be provided and scheduled.

This position assists with the ministry of Our Lady of the Lake by supporting the various administrative functions of the parish and school.  The ideal candidate will have to be willing to learn about the parish and school and be able to work within a framework of shared ministry and Catholic values.  

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performs secretarial duties for the pastor, principal, and other staff as needed.  Receives and places telephone calls, schedules appointments and meetings, prepares written communication and processes mail.  
  • Politely greets and refers all guests to the appropriate area.
  • Acts as a resource person for school community. 
  • Maintains office record-keeping and filing system.
  • Assists in the opening/closing of the office; ensuring all machines are turned on/off, windows and doors locked and all appropriate lights are on/off.

 Education and Experience:

  • High school graduate or equivalent required.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Must be able to engage with adults and children tactfully and with discretion.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Computer proficient; Microsoft Office preferred.
  • Must be a practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church.
