Our Lady of the Lake Regional Catholic School has safety and security protocols in place to ensure students, staff, and volunteers are in a secure environment and to protect our students. At OLLRCS, protocols for Ministry to Minors are required of all persons, clergy, religious, school/program administrators, school counselors, teachers, catechists, youth ministers, support staff, coaches, and school/program volunteers, as required in any of the parishes and institutions of the Diocese of Gaylord. These protocols are to help in the creation of a safe, appropriate, and Christian environment for minors and their relationships with adults in church ministry. The Diocese of Gaylord has now partnered with Virtus – Protecting God’s Children to provide an online safe environment program which is available via the Internet at all times. To take the course, simply follow this link and log in. Be sure to select the course specifically for the Diocese of Gaylord.
Public Act 12 (Enrolled House Bill 4713), effective July 1, 2014, amends Section 19 of the Fire Prevention Code and modifies the frequency and recording requirements for school safety drills. Under the new requirements, any school that operates “any of grades” kindergarten to 12 must conduct a required number of fire, tornado, and “lockdown” safety drills per school year within specified time frames and requires school officials to post certain information on its website concerning completed school safety drills. The school safety drill reports below are provided in compliance with Michigan law and as a service to the community we serve.
